In Cagnes-sur-Mer, three cultural institutions stand out for their rich artistic heritage: the Musée Renoir, the Château-Musée Grimaldi, and the Espace Solidor, dedicated to contemporary jewelry. Each, in its own way, sheds light on an essential part of history and artistic creation.
Housed in Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s former home, the Musée Renoir preserves the Impressionist painter’s studio and works. His paintings capture the light of the Mediterranean and the softness of the Côte d’Azur, making Cagnes-sur-Mer a major source of inspiration for his work.
Overlooking the town, the Château-Musée Grimaldi, former residence of the Monegasque sovereigns, bears witness to the Grimaldis’ historic influence in the region. Today, it houses art collections and illustrates the link between local heritage and princely history.
