“Alexis GRITCHENKO, a Wandering Painter”
Ukrainian painter based in Cagnes-sur-Mer from 1927 to 1960
Alexis Gritchenko (1883–1977), a Ukrainian-born painter, settled in Cagnes-sur-Mer in 1927, where he found a true home. Inspired by Mediterranean light and landscapes, he developed a highly personal style, rich in vibrant colors.
The Château-Musée Grimaldi now pays tribute to him through an exhibition featuring works from French collections and, exceptionally, from the National Art Museum of Ukraine.
GUIDED TOURS in Ukrainian
These one-hour guided tours invite visitors to discover the life and work of Alexis Gritchenko and his connection to the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer.
• Monday, April 6th, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
The tour will be followed by a sketching workshop in the streets of the Old Town, suitable for both children and adults.

€3 (+ €4 museum admission. Free for Cagnes residents and visitors under 26).
